The controversy over the emergence of Yemi Osinbajo as Nigeria’s Vice-President cropped up again Wednes­day night when he declared that he was recommended for the position by ‘some­one’, who he however, de­clined to name.

The politics of his being picked as running mate to President Muhammadu Bu­hari in the 2015 Presidential Election has been reverber­ating in the polity for some time.

A portion of the recent­ly-launched biography by American Professor John Paden titled: ‘Muhammadu Buhari: Challenges of Lead­ership’ claimed that Osin­bajo emerged as Vice Presi­dent despite pressure against it by the National Leader of the All Progressives Con­gress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
