The separated couple, who got married two years ago, have six children together: Maddox, 14, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, nine, Knox, seven, and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, seven.
“Angelina did not invite Brad to spend Thanksgiving with their kids,” a source close to the couple told US Weekly, noting that the Allied star has been left feeling totally “crushed” as the holiday season arrives.
The actor, who was exonerated by the FBI and Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services amid abuse allegations, “has been deferential on what’s best for [the kids] and limits their stress,” according to the source.
However, the high-profile pair remain in the midst of a complicated legal battle, with Angelina requesting sole physical custody of their children who reportedly didn’t “warm up to” their father throughout the three monitored visits in the two months since her divorce filing in September.
Last year, in happier times, Brad talked about relishing the holidays as a large family, explaining how he wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty in the kitchen to cook up a feast for their annual Thanksgiving dinner.
“Yeah, I’ll get in there, I’ll mess it up a little bit,” he told Extra. “We got Thanksgiving, man, I’m all over that turkey.”
Be right back, we’re off to drown our sorrows in turkey and pumpkin pie.
