3 Types Of Coders I Know

Being a developer I have been surrounded by developers both in school and at work for over 10 years, so I have made a lot of friends in the field along the way. As you can imagine I have also been in all sorts of arguments pertaining to technology which ended with an agreement to disagree. Some of my closest friends in the world are people I regularly disagree with. Besides us having something in common – like we code, or we went to the same college or we grew up in the same neighborhood – I think the main bonding factor is that we tend to frequently have varying ideas on various topics. Many people find these kind of friendships frustrating, but they are actually my favorite. I usually get to learn something new in every interaction, which is a gift. I was recently thinking about the differences in perspective of...

How GE Is Creating The Next Industrial Era

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]usiness cycles have always been opportunities for GE, and today’s environment of lower oil prices is no different. To take advantage of a volatile world, GE has been investing in its core infrastructure businesses, simplifying its operations and leading the next industrial era of machines connected through the Industrial Internet. “We capitalize on cycles by investing when others can’t, and persisting through periods of doubt,” GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt wrote in his annual letter to shareowners, which will be published later this month. “GE plans to be a stable partner to our oil and gas customers during good times and bad. MAVIN Is Promoting Tiwa Savage’s R.E.D Album With A Meme Generator

Tiwa Savage just put out her sophomore effort, titled RED: Romance Expression Dance, an album title that tells me it’s a compilation of amorous, passionate lyrics, set to fast paced, afro-centric instrumentation. I’ll find out if I’m right in a few minutes, after I download it, here. It was first released exclusively on the MTN Music Plus platform, and was subsequently picked up by other websites. As part of the plug for the 16 track compilation, the Supreme Mavin Dynasty seems to have torn a page out Dr. Dre’s playbook, with a R.E.D. Meme generator. The website, i-am-red.com, has a pretty simple interface, and works by allowing users upload their pictures, and enter their values for the R. E. D. acronym. You can do this by entering text in the fields, or choosing predefined suggestions from drop-down menus (one for each letter). Users are then encouraged to share these images on...

According to a statement obtained by TechCabal, the fund will be invested into “next generation infrastructure for change in Nigeria”. “With a targeted fund size of N1 billion over the next twenty-four months, the goal is to deepen support for early stage social enterprises solving local problems across various sectors of the Nigerian economy,” the statement reads. This is Nigeria’s first Social Innovation Fund, according to CcHUB. But it’s not the first time CcHub is setting up a funding pool for startups. It first launched a $500,000 seed investment fund in 2014. Although it never identified itself as an accelerator, it certainly re-positioned itself from only a nurturer of tech talents and founders, to a direct financial backer of the ecosystem. CcHub began investing up to $25,000...
