Woman arraigned for pouring hot water on neighbour

TVCE [IKEJA] - A Lagos State Magistrates’ Court, Ikeja, on Thursday granted a N500,000 bail to Esther Williams, who allegedly poured hot water on her neighbour, Mabel Enwongomfon-Umoh, who is a nursing mother. It would be recalled that Williams had on Tuesday been arraigned on one count bordering on the offence, said to be contrary to and punishable under Section 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Vol. 44, No. 2, 2011.  She was accused of unlawfully causing Enwongomfon-Umoh grievous bodily harm. A news medium (not TVC) had on Tuesday reported how Williams allegedly emptied a bucket of hot water on Enwongomfon-Umoh after they had a minor argument in their rented house on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Amosun’s daughter donates medical items to hospital

TVCE [ABEOKUTA] - One of the daughters of the Governor of Ogun State, Miss Akorede Amosun has donated some medical items to the Family Health Centre, Oke-Ilewo in Abeokuta South Local Government area of the state. Dickson begging to defect, lobbies presidency – APC

TVCE [YENAGOA] - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has revealed that the recent visit of Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, to the Presidential Villa, was to beg the presidency to allow him join the party to complete his second term. Coach Sunday Oliseh had on Saturday named the Super Eagles B squad for the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda. 2,699 Bureau De Changes meet new CBN requirements

TVC [ABUJA] - The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has confirmed that 2,699 Bureau De Change (BDCs) complied with the new requirements for operations in the country as at 31st December 2015. The apex bank published a list of the confirmed BDCs entitled, “Confirmed BDC in compliance the new requirements for the operations of BDCs in Nigeria as at December 31, 2015”, on its website. It would be recalled that the CBN had in September published a list of 2,765 licensed BDCs, which it said had complied with its new N35 million capitalisation requirements and another N35 million cautionary deposit for operators. There were 3,208 registered BDCs in the country before the expiration of the deadline on July 31 2014 for operators to recapitalise.
