‘2016 budget not missing’ – Senate

TVCE [ABUJA] - The Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, has said that the 2016 budget proposal was not missing. Speaking during TVC NEWS hour on Wednesday, Abdullahi said it is still not clear what the intention of those championing the missing budget campaign is. He insisted that no budget is missing and that the Senate will on Thursday distribute copies of the budget to all the Senators to enable contribute to the debate slated for January 19 to 21. Arsenal offer £6m for Nwakali, Chukwueze

TVCE (SOCCER) - Arsenal FC have offered a total of £6million pounds for Nigerian youngsters Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze. Reports say that the FIFA U-17 World Cup youngsters are expected with their guardians and academy officials in London this month to complete the transfer to the London Gunners, africanFootball.com reports. “Kelechi (Nwakali) will cost £3.9million, while £2.1million is for Chukwueze,” a source told africanFootball.com. “This is the full package including training compensation to the players’ academy and what have you.” Last year, Nwakali’s agents demanded four million pounds from another EPL side Manchester City after he underwent trials at The Etihad.  City officials felt the player was overpriced and did not follow up on the deal. FG reaffirms commitment in local Production

Bayelsa poll: Sylva vows to challenge result in court

TVCE (YENAGOA) -  The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, has vowed to challenge the result of the election in court. The Independent National Electoral Commission had on Sunday declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, and incumbent governor of the state, Seriake Dickson, winner of the election. Addressing journalists on Monday, Sylva alleged that INEC colluded with PDP to rig the election. He said he had officially complained, prior to the election, that the present structure of INEC in the state would not conduct a credible election. Neymar to appear in Spanish court over fraud case

Barcelona’s Brazilian star Neymar has been ordered to appear at a Spanish court over an alleged case for fraud, according to Agencie France Presse. He is being called to come and give evidence by Spain’s national court on February 2 for alleged fraud surrounding his transfer to Barcelona in 2013. Both player’s parents, who is current Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, and former club president Sandro Rossell and two directors from Neymar’s former club Santos have also been asked to come and give evidence. Previous reports on the issue claim that Brazilian investment fund DIS accuse Neymar and other parties of cheating them out of the benefits of 23-year old’s transfer in 2013 as part of the money was concealed by Barcelona and Santos.
