For identical twins Owami and Olwethu Mzazi, it was their life-long dream to marry the same man. Kenya sends more troops to Somalia

TVC E, WORLD NEWS - Kenya has deployed more soldiers to Somalia in its continuing search, rescue and recovery operation against the so-called Al-Shaabab militants. The key mission for the Kenya Defence Forces is to annihilate the insurgents and destroy a military hardware that was looted from KDF camps during last week’s attack in El Adde. Chief of Defence Forces, General Samson Mwathethe says the troops will reinforce several other soldiers currently engaging the militants in their hideouts near the Gedo and Baay regions. Price of kerosene jerked up to N83

TVC E, BUSINESS - The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPRA) has announced an increment in the price of Household Kerosene from N50 to N83. PPPRA‎, in its product pricing template released over the weekend, stated that the N83 per litre price applies only to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). This means that other petrol stations and dealers can sell higher than the stipulated amount. The template also showed that at N83, the Federal Government will be making a gain of N10.72 on every litre. It further puts the expected open market price, which is the landing cost plus total margins at N72.28 per litre. The expected open market price is the prevailing open market rate for the product in Nigeria, after taking certain costs into consideration. TVC E, POLITICS - Former Zamfara State Governor Ahmed Rufai Sani (Yerima Bakura) who is standing trial for misappropriating state funds says the Zamfara House of Assembly approved the expenditure in question. The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) arraigned Sani on a 19-count at the Zamfara High Court 4 on Thursday for allegedly mismanaging N1 billion voted for the repair of Gusau Dam. About N425,491,736.75 of the N1 billion was allegedly diverted to other purposes. Sani in his defence statement filed in court said all expenditures queried in charges 1-14 were approved by the House of Assembly. Sani, who was governor between 1999 to 2007 said relevant documents on the expenditures were taken away by an official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Ethnic group in Jos North Local Government Areas of Plateau State has warned the Plateau State government against taking actions that will sabotage the prevailing peaceful co-existence in the volatile city of Jos. Governor Simon Lalong is alleged to be suppressing the minority tribe by using political appointment to set residents of the city against one another. Issues of political appointment has always led to violent conflict in Jos North local government Area as exemplified in the 1994 and 2001 Jos crisis. John Holt posts N1.63bn operating profit

  John Holt Nigeria Plc, a company engaged in engineering, leasing, trade and distribution businesses, posted an operating profit of N1.63 billion for the year that ended September 30 2015 and 18.5% reduction from N2 billion the previous year. The company said that the devaluation of the naira was a drain on bottom lines since most of its raw materials and equipments are imported.
