Chidinma parts ways with Clarence Peters’ record label

Chidinma has been with the label since her rise to fame after winning the talent hunt and when her contract with the label expired at the end of February 2016, the petite singer chose not to renew the deal. Sources in her camp exclusively revealed to NET that ‘It’s not like there’s a fight or beef of any kind, but both parties just decided to move on’. Our source further added that ‘Chidinma has always said she won’t float her own record label yet, so no one really knows her next plan’. Her debut album ‘Chidinma’ was released in 2012 under Capital Hill Records....

Timaya, Davido, Tiwa Savage to perform at Gidi Fest 2016

The festival’s headliners include Davido, Tiwa Savage, Phyno, Yemi Alade and Timaya, while South Africa’s K.O and Riky Rick will be coming to Nigeria for the first time to grace the stage. Opening acts on the day are Adekunle Gold and Small Doctor. Hosts for Gidi Fest 2016 include MTV Base VJ’s, Nomuzi from South Africa and Nigeria’s very own, Ehiz, alongside City FM OAP, Sensei Uche. Glo denies terminating P Square Endorsement Deal

The company confirmed in a statement it released in Lagos on Thursday that, contrary to such media speculations, the twins were still its brand ambassadors, stating that it was only in the process of reviewing contracts with its ambassadors, including the twins. “We have not disengaged PSquare or any of our other ambassadors. We are currently in the process of reviewing our contracts with the brand ambassadors,” the statement said. Tribal clash leaves 3 dead, houses burnt in Mile 12

TVC E. Between last night and the early hours of this morning, there was heavy chaos at Agiliti area of Mile 12 after members of the Community and Hausa Okada riders engaged in a free for all fight. No fewer than three persons are feared dead and several cars set ablaze as Hausa and Yoruba traders clashes. It was gathered that the foundation for the clash was laid on Tuesday after a Hausa commercial bike rider knocked down a woman. The bike rider was told to take the woman to the hospital, but the rider and his colleagues refused. They insisted that the motorbike association, which collects tolls from them, should take care of the woman. There was heated argument, which led to a fight, broken bottles and burnt tyres can be seen on the road. Part of UNILAG building on fire, 1 dead

TVC E. Mallam Abbah Kyari, a former Auditor General of Borno State died today Thursday in a fire outbreak, inside the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge of the University of Lagos, UNILAG. Kyari was visiting the University for the installation of  the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba El-Kanemi as Chancellor of the University. Reports has it that a member of the emir’s delegatiom revealed that the fire incident started at about 2 am from one of the rooms ‎in the lodge. An electrical fault is suspected to have caused the fire. “The fire started sometime around 2am and there were frantic efforts to douse it, but unfortunately, the damage had been done as the former Auditor General sustained injuries that eventually claimed his life,” the source who pleaded anonymity said. ...
