Man in court for stealing bags of rice

TVC E.  Yusuf Adigun 39, who is unemployed was alleged to have stolen 600 bags of rice worth N6 million, and he was on Wednesday charged before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.   Adigun the accused who lives at Apapa area of Lagos, is facing a three -count charge of conspiracy, stealing and escaping from police custody and pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecutor, Insp. Rita Momah, told the court that the accused and some others at large committed the offences on Oct. 15, 2015, at Apapa Wharf, Lagos.   She alleged that the accused broke into the shop of one Adekunbi Fowosere and stole the 600 bags of rice.   “Adigun was apprehended while the others ran way. He was taken into custody but he escaped with handcuffs and was later rearrested,’’ she said. The accused was granted bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum....

COSON calls for implementation of copyright levy scheme

TVC E, MUSIC - The Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), has challenged the Federal Government to implement the copyright levy scheme. President of the Society,Tony Okoroji explains that the scheme will provide aid not just for the music industry but also for the movie and literary industries. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt freed from prison

Enyeama, Emenike reject Super Eagles return

TVC E, SPORTS - Nigeria's interim coach Samson Siasia has given up in his bid to lure keeper Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike back from international retirement. Both players quit the Super Eagles last October after falling out with former coach Sunday Oliseh.
