TVC E. The 2016 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards ( AMVCA ) is on now. Nigerian stars Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Nuoah as well as Ghana’s Van Vicker, John Dumelo and Fred Nuamah, Founder of the Ghana Movie Awards, attended the event, which saw an electrifying live band performance. Still one of Africa’s biggest nights in movies, the AMVCA acknowledges the contribution made by Pan African filmmakers, actors and technicians to the success of the continent’s film & television industries. It honours the rich entrepreneurial and creative spirit of the African filmmaker. Winners at tonight’s event will receive the prestigious AMVCA trophy. The venue is at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos, the awards night will is hoted by IK Osakioduwa and Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini. I spend a minimum of N5.9m when I shop – Davido

TVC E, MUSIC - Afropop star David 'Davido' Adeleke has disclosed that he spends a minimum of $30,000 (N5.9million) when he shops, according to a report. Davido who told PM News that he is always happy when on such shopping sprees, said he owes no one an apology for flaunting his expensive jewelry and automobiles. He however, stressed that he is not out to oppress anyone with his wealth. “It is convenient to buy those luxurious items from money I earn from music,” he was quoted as saying. "I am not doing this to oppress anybody. I’m only happy that I can walk into any store anywhere in the world and spend $30,000 at a go off my music. That’s just it. And this is money that I make in Africa and not in America," he added. Davido recently signed a deal worth millions with Sony/BMG Record....

EU says accords with Morocco in line with international law

The European Union's senior diplomat said on Friday the union disagrees with a court ruling invalidating its farm trade deal with Morocco and the accords with Rabat do not violate international law. The EU has appealed a European Court decision announced on Dec. 10 to cancel the trade deal with Morocco in response to a suit filed by the Polisario Front, which wants independence for the Moroccan-controlled Western Sahara. The complaint, brought to the court in 2012, involves trade of agricultural products, processed agricultural products and fisheries. The court said the deal should exclude the disputed territory of Western Sahara. European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini made an unplanned visit to Rabat to calm tensions after Morocco said it had suspended contact with European Union institutions to protest against the court decision.
