Kogi: Hearing begins Monday in Faleke’s petition

TVC E, POLITICS - The Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal will on Monday commence hearing in the petitions challenging the election of Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as governor of the state. It was reliably gathered that six petitions were filed before the tribunal now sitting in Abuja following fear of insecurity in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. On Tuesday, tribunal Chairman, Justice Halima Muhammed announced that parties would adopt reports of their pre-hearing sessions beginning from Monday (March 14), following which trial will commence. The chairman said the tribunal will take the objections to the petition along with the substantive petition. Parties in the petitions told the Tribunal that they will be calling two witnesses each to prove their cases in the petition challenging Governor Bello’s election. Headmaster stabs teacher with knife in AOCOED staff School

TVC E, NEWS - There was palpable tension at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) Staff school on Tuesday when the Headmaster of the School Sunday Ogunmade reportedly stabbed one of the teachers on the head with a knife. Our Crime Correspondent who visited the scene of the incident reports that the victim whose identity is yet to be identified was involved in a row with Ogunmade over non-payment of February Salary and the de-harmonisation of Teachers in the school. Kitchen: Learn how to cook Benin Owo Soup

TVC E. This is a native Urhobo recipe you are sure to enjoy and would ask for more servings! It is made with a mix of blended tomatoes & pepper. It is best enjoyed with boiled yam or unripe plantain.     INGREDIENTS Goat meat or assorted meat Palm Oil Knorr cubes Potash Tomatoes Habanero pepper - ata rodo Smoked Fish PREPARATION METHOD Boil and season your meat. Once they have sufficiently cooked with some stock left, add your blended tomatoes and pepper. Add the crayfish and smoked fish. Bring the contents of the pot to a gentle simmer. Dissolve potash about the size of half - 3 quarters of a maggi cube in water and add to the pot and bring to the boil. The presence of the tomatoes, will mean it wouldn't bubble up as much. Leave it to cook and in a few minutes, you will notice that the addition of the potash has caused the prior watery stock to thicken a little....

The battle against military corruption in Nigeria was taking its toll, especially during the rise of dictator Sani Abacha. Fela Anikulapo Kuti died on Saturday, August 2, 1997, at 4pm (local time) in Lagos, Nigeria. It had been rumoured for some time that Fela had a serious illness he was refusing treatment for, many said he was suffering from prostate cancer. UPDATE : Death toll from Lekki building collapse climbs to 15

TVC NEWS: The death toll from the building collapse at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State has risen to fifteen as rescue operations by the National Emergency Management Agency, South West zone and  Lagos State Fire Service are still ongoing. Our correspondent learnt that there are still several others trapped in the building including a nursing mother.
