Ondo PDP ward congress ends peacefully

The ward congress of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State has ended in all the 18 local government areas of the state. Presenting its report to the state executive members, the PDP ward congress electoral committee led by a member of the House of Representatives, Teejay Yusuf said the ward congress was conducted peacefully. Yusuf noted that congress took place in two hundred and two out of the two hundred and three wards in the state. He described the congress as the most organised congress ever witnessed, stressing that the only outstanding ward will be conducted at a date yet to be announced. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has advised the Federal Government to invest heavily in the nation’s tourism potential. Kidnapped Kaduna pastors : Two regain freedom, one found dead

Two out of three pastors who were kidnapped ten days ago, in Kaduna state have regained their freedom. The third, Reverend Iliya Anto has been found dead. Those released are President of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, popularly called HEKAN, Reverends Emmanuel Dziggau, and Yakubu Dzarma. General Secretary of the church, says the pastors were freed on Wednesday evening, and are receiving medical treatment. Billionaire, Ifeanyi Ubah sanctioned for slapping Mikel Obi’s brother

Club owner and billionaire business man, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, is currently facing sanctions from Nigeria’s League Management Company(LMC) for his role in the violence that erupted during a Nigeria Premier League game. Ubah was caught on camera slapping Heartland FC goalkeeper, Ebele Obi during the match between his club, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, and Heartland FC. He has been slammed a N2.5 million fine and a 10-match ban. In the sanction, FC Ifeanyi Ubah was“charged for the encroachment of their supporters on the technical area immediately after the match against Heartland and acting in a manner capable of bringing the league to disrepute contrary to Rule 13.8 of the Rules and Framework.” He is also expected to offer a letter of apology & an "undertaking to be a good ambassador of the NPFL."
