Embattled actress Ibinabo Fiberesima granted bail

The Lagos State Court of Appeal has granted embattled Nollywood actress Ibinabo Fiberesima bail in the sum of N 2million. She was also ordered to present two sureties who are residents in Lagos in like sum in the bail application heard on Thursday. She was granted bail pending the outcome of her appeal at  the supreme court. Olubadan suspends Onido, places Eze Ndigbo under baales

The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, on Wednesday seized the beads of the Baale of Ido, Chief Tajudeen Akinola Agura, for parading himself as the Onido. Onido is a major Ibadan less city baale. The title has been in the news in the last 10 years for various traditional and political reasons. Fuel scarcity: Ambode appeals to Lagosians

Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has appealed to Lagosians to bear with the government over the lingering shortage of fuel and power across the state. Ambode, in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, said Lagos  consumes more than 40 per cent of the fuel and energy needs of the country and knows that the impact of the scarcity would be felt more in the state. Woman arrests boyfriend she paid to marry her for impregnating another girl

Frustrated woman jumps into canal in Lagos

Contrary to the common saying "when there is life, there is hope' a seemingly frustrated woman has committed suicide after she jumped off a bridge into a canal  in the Oke-Afa area of Isolo, Lagos State. According to reports, the woman who looked disturbed, had walked casually on the bridge and before anyone could notice what was going on, she had jumped off the bridge into the canal which had claimed the lives of hundreds of people who fell into it during the bomb blast that shook the Ikeja Cantonment in the early 2000. 21-yr-old commits suicide over guilt of abortion

A UK based  21-yr-old single mother of one, Jade Rees, had reportedly killed herself after struggling with her decision to have an abortion weeks earlier. According to sources, Rees had terminated her pregnancy after the father of her unborn child had ended their relationship of five months, moving on to date another woman. The source added that her decision had left her ''upset and distressed'' and three weeks later, Rees had taken her life after reportedly listening to Ed Sheeran's song, 'Small Bump' which had been recorded in response to a friend’s miscarriage at five months of pregnancy. Rees was reported to have left a handwritten note addressed to her parents and her two-year-old son, explaining the struggles she had faced following the scarring the procedure. But it is still disheartening and sounds unbelievable that a baby of about two years of age has made the news for its strange preference for beer over milk.
