Animal rights activists continued to protest over the death of a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo who was fatally shot so authorities could rescue a child who had fallen into the animal's enclosure. A change.org petition called for the parents of the 3-year-old boy to be held responsible for the death of Harambe, a 17-year-old male Western lowland silverback gorilla. The petition had garnered more than 138,000 signatures by Monday afternoon. 18 year old teenage boy escapes being lynched by angry mob for stealing laptop

TVC E. An 18 year old teenage boy who stole a laptop today Tuesday May 31st 2016 has escaped being almost beaten to death by an angry mob. The teenage boy was caught red handed whilst stealing the laptop around Ikorodu area. According to witnesses, the teenager sneaked into a shop in the area, stole the laptop and was on the verge of getting away with it when the shop owner saw him and raised alarm which drew the attention of the people in the area. The young thief was allegedly given a chase, he was finally caught up with after managing to scale three fences. Barcelona's five-times soccer World Player of the Year Lionel Messi would go on trial along with his father on accusations of defrauding the Spanish state of millions of euros (dollars). Argentinian-born striker Messi and his father Jorge Horacio Messi, who have both denied the allegations, were due to appear in the Barcelona court on Thursday, according to a judicial document. A previous court ruled that Messi, 28, could have known about and approved the creation of a web of shell companies allegedly used to evade taxes on income from image rights. Spain's tax office accused both men in 2013 of defrauding the government of 4.2 million euros ($4.67 million) between 2007 and 2009.
