NDLEA arrests 24-year old woman with 193 wraps of cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 24-year old Rose Uche Igbinoba, with 193 wraps of cocaine hidden inside packs of sweets at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos. Rose who arrived Nigeria from Dubai, was arrested after the whitish substance weighing 3.230kgs ‎which she wrapped in the sweet packs, tested positive for cocaine. Speaking on her arrest, NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Ahmadu Garba said Rose who hails from Edo state and her accomplice were arrested by the vigilant men of NDLEA “One Igbainoba Uche Rose, who concealed 3.230kgs inside sweets was apprehended at the arrival hall during inward screening of passengers. Giwa FC risk NPFL expulsion after Wikki walkover

Giwa FC are now just a game away from being expelled from the Nigerian elite football league after failing to turn up in Ilorin on Sunday for their match against Wikki Tourists. Wikki thus conducted a walkover when it was clear Giwa will not honour the game. Gulak denies hijacking Adamawa PDP congress

The controversy surrounding the suspension of  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congress in Adamawa State has been resolved. The party conducted its state congress on Monday with high turnout of voters across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state. The congress which ought to have been conducted on Sunday was suspended over alleged hijacking of the party's congress materials for the state by the  former senior adviser to ex President Goodluck Jonathan,  Barrister Ahmed Gulak, . Gulak has denied the allegation, saying that what he did was to stand in as guarantor for the state in collecting the materials before he handed it to the election committee. A chieftain of the party in the state Dr Umaru Ardo, attributed the distrust between the party stakeholders and election committee as the reason for the suspension of the congress. 9 Ogun PDP ExCo members suspend party chairman

The crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assumed a new dimension as nine members of the party's executive have suspended the chairman, Bayo Dayo, and secretary, Semiu Sodipo indefinitely. They unanimously elected Ibukunolu Ojosipe and Muritala Adegoke as interim chairman and secretary respectively. The nine officers accused Bayo Dayo and Semiu Sodipo of financial misappropriation, indiscriminate imposition of candidates and exclusion of party officials from the ongoing Party's congresses. Speaking on behalf of the nine officers at a press conference in Abeokuta, the PDP Organising Secretary, Folasade Filani, said the suspension was in accordance with section 21 (5) of the party's constitution. Speaking earlier, the embattled secretary, Semiu Sodipo said the nine members have left the party and they have no authority to intervene in their activities urging them to follow due process if they want to return.
