FUTA crisis : School management defends Vice Chancellor
The management of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), has described the ongoing protest of the unions, which demand the resignation of the Vice Chancellor , as unnecessary and a bid to preempt the laws of the land.
Addressing a news conference in Akure, FUTA’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Prof. Olatunde Arayela said there was no basis for the protest embarked upon by the staff of the university.
He explained that the demand of the protesting workers for the resignation of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Adebiyi Daramola was uncalled for as he has not been found guilty of any allegation by any law enforcement agency.
He stated that the Vice Chancellor and Bursar of the university had appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over various allegations leveled against them, adding that the anti graft agency has commenced investigation on the allegation.
The University don advised aggrieved workers of the university to wait till the EFCC concludes its investigations on the matter.
