House of Reps to investigate Oil spillage in eighteen Villages
The House of Representatives has urged the National Oil Spill Detection Response Agency to investigate last month’s oil spillage in eighteen villages of Bayelsa state.
It also urged Shell Petroleum Company Limited, to commence immediate clean up of the affected areas.
Representative Sodaguwo Festus-Omoni brought the devastating oil spillage to the notice of the House.
She argued that the spillage has adversely affected the means of livelihood of the villagers.
