Abuja residents set to enjoy digital terrestrial TV signals
The Nigerian government says it is targeting twenty-six thousand jobs and four hundred million dollars in advertising revenue from its digitisation of broadcast signals.
Top policymakers disclosed this at the official launch of the Nigeria digital switch over of television signals in the nation’s capital on Thursday.
The NBC assured Nigerians it has the digital capacity to monitor content and regulate TV channels on the new broadcast platform.
The Nigerian government says it is democratising the broadcast industry to prevent monopoly and promote pluralism of ideas for a healthy competition.
The launch sets the ball rolling for the digitisation programme across all states of the federation.
