TVC E. The newly sworn-president of Gambia, Adama Barrow took the oath of office on Thursday, January 19, at the Gambian embassy in Dakar, Senegal.
The ceremony was administered by Sheriff Tambadou, the president of the Gambian Bar Association.
The new Gambian president is married to two wives, Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow and Sarjo Mballow-Barrow and has four children. Both wives are from the Fula ethnic group.
Habibu Barrow, his eight-year-old son, died after being bitten by a dog on January 15, 2017.
Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, the first wife, when her husband won the elections said she was more than happy and lost for words in congratulating the Gambian people, who have spoken and made the right choice by choosing Adama Barrow as the president of the third Republic.
Sarjo Mballow-Barrow, the 2nd wife, also thanked and commended the Gambian people for her husband’s victory.

TVC E. A 35-year-old woman identified as Ediale Ayodele, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing an official of the Ikeja Electric Company, to death.
Daily Post, disclosed that the woman was arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC). Their Lagos commandant, Tajudeen Balogun, revealed that she stabbed the man during his routine forecast drive at No 6, Ayodola close, Akowonjo.
It was gathered that the unnamed official had come to the said property to check on a disconnection he carried out some weeks back when the altercation occurred.
The suspect took a knife and stabbed him in the process but he was rushed to the General Hospital at Alimoso, where he was confirmed dead.
The Commandant noted that more details into the incident would be made public on completion of investigation.
TVC E. There is confusion on Saturday morning, January 21, at Oke Baale area of Osogbo, the Osun state as some policemen allegedly opened fire on some students of the Osun State University while playing football.
According to The Punch, two students were hit by the bullets.
One of them identified as Abiola Kazeem, was said to have been hit on the stomach and was rejected at two hospitals before he was taken to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo where he is now being treatment.
The other victim, Ibrahim, was said to have been hit by the bullet in the mouth. He is currently receiving treatment at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital at Jolayemi area of Osogbo.
Some students living in the area said that the policemen came to the football pitch and started shouting Yahoo boys, Yahoo boys and thereafter opened fire of the students.
