Morata to miss game against Everton after dramatic celebration
Alvaro Morata who was served with a yellow card for the fifth time in a season, will miss Chelsea’s clash with Everton on Saturday.
The Spaniard picked up a one-match ban after celebrating his dramatic late win as Chelsea beat Bournemouth 2-1 to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
In celebrating the win, Morata picked the ball up and placed it under his shirt and sucked his thumb at the same time. His celebration was inspired by his wife’s recent announcement.
Morata’s wife Alice Campello announced last week that she is pregnant.
Morata then celebrated with team-mates and Chelsea fans, before a yellow card was brandished by referee Lee Mason. The Spanish striker will now have to spend time with his pregnant wife this weekend just before Christmas.
Chelsea will face Brighton on Boxing Day and Stoke on December 30 to round of their 2017 fixture list.
