Arsenal seeks fresh start with PSG star
Unai Emery, who is named Arsene Wenger’s successor, is reportedly considering PSG and France mildfielder, Adrian Robiot as his first signing as the new Arsenal manager.
Emery and Rabiot worked together in the French capital and won the domestic treble this season before Emery left the club.
23-year-old Rabiot, who has won six caps for his country since making his international debut in 2016, has not been included in Didier Deschamps’ 23-man squad that will travel to Russia this summer – although he is on their standby list.
Rabiot’s ommission from his national team to feature in the World Cup, came as a shock, however, reports have stated that Rabiot blames PSG for his omission, after he failed to hold down a regular starting spot at the Ligue 1 champions this season.
And now Calciomercato claims that Arsenal are looking to take advantage of the player’s unhappiness and will offer Rabiot guarantees of regular football at The Emirates.
Rabiot has a year remaining on his contract though it is claimed the 23-year-old could help push a bargain deal through.
And that could be a benefit to Emery who is rumoured to be working on a tight budget.
