Two Internet Fraudsters imprisoned in Ogun State

Justice Mohammed Abubakar of the Federal High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, today Thursday, April 11th convicted and sentenced two internet fraudsters, Gbenga Oduwole and Samson Ogunnowo, to five months and four months in prison, respectively. The convicts had pleaded guilty to separate one-count charges preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, which were products of the plea bargain proposed by their lawyers and agreed to by the Commission. The different charges border on fraud and impersonation. The amended charge against Ogunnowo reads: "That you, Samson Ogunnowo (aka Joyce; Larry), sometime in 2019, at Ago Iwoye within the Abeokuta jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently impersonated one Larry, a white Male American Citizen via your email: iselong@gmail.com sent through a computer system and network to one Brenda Hardly in order to facilitate your obtaining the sum of USD$200 (Two Hundred United States of America Dollars) only and...

Nigeria ranks Second Worst in the World in Use of Sovereign Wealth Fund- IMF

Abuja Land speculator gets 70-years jail term for forgery

Justice C.O Agbaza of the Federal high court, sitting in Jabi Abuja, on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, sentenced and convicted one Kehinde Bello, to 70 years imprisonment for obtaining by false pretence and forgery. EFCC, had arraigned the convict for trial on 10-count charge bordering on Advance Fee Fraud, forgery and conspiracy. Bello’s problem started in 2008, through a petition by Enatto-Nana Aisha to the EFCC, complaining of the convict, who approached her to pay for of a landed property in Abuja, claiming to be a staff of the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA. Ogun State police arrests child kidnappers and recovers three missing children

Three members of an ill famed child theft gang have been arrested by Ogun State Police command. Their alleged leader is a woman who is currently serving her time in an Ondo prison for another case of child theft. A statement released by the police command spokes person, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, says the syndicate's mode of operation was to carry out a surveillance of areas where their age-target of children were concentrated, following which, two members of the syndicate, a man and a woman, would pretend as a married couple in search of an apartment.
