Gunmen kills one expatriate and abducts three others at tourist attraction in Kaduna

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers  killed two persons and abducted three others in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state, yesterday. The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Yakubu Sabo who confirmed the incident, said the gunmen who were armed with dangerous weapons, invaded the Kajuru Castle Resort at about 2 pm on Saturday, shooting sporadically and in the process, shot two persons including a female expatriate to death, and whisked three others away. According to Sabo, the victims along with 12 others, came from Lagos on a tourism tour, and they organised a party at the Castle located at the Hill Top during which the incident happened. The police spokesperson added that the organisers of the party failed to inform the police to provide security coverage for them as has been the tradition due to the insecurity in the area.    ...

Herdsmen kill 15 people during raid on three communities in Adamawa State

Men suspected to be herdsmen launched attacks on three communities in Adamawa State. The raid took the lives of 15 people and injured three. Among the dead are an elderly couple and their two granddaughters. Survivors of the attack said their village of Bolon in Drmsa Local Government Area and neighbouring Bolki and Bujum villages within Numan Local Government Area were overrun on Wednesday night by heavily-armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. The assailants were said to have pounced on Bolon at about 10pm, shooting sporadically and torching more than 10 thatched houses, forcing surviving residents to flee for their lives. Robinson Filgona, Village Head of Bolon said: "At about 10 pm, some Fulani militants descended on our community, heavily armed and started shooting indiscriminately.
