Tears, tributes at Ekiti doctors’ burial

Three of the Ekiti State doctors who lost their lives on their way to the last NMA Conference in Sokoto have been buried in Ado Ekiti. A commendation service was held earlier at the Ekiti State Secretariat of the NMA in the state capital in honour of the late doctors and their driver. Preacher at the commendation service reiterated the vanity of life according to the Bible. Several former colleagues of the deceased paid glowing tribute to the departed. After the service, two of the doctors-Olajide Olayiwola and Ogunseye Ola were buried at the premises of the state Secretariat of the NMA in Ado Ekiti after due consultation with their families. The General Surgeon among the deceased-Tunde Aladesanmi was buried at his residence also in the state capital. The remains of the remaining three doctors and their driver have been taken to their home towns for burial....

ABUAD students vandalise school properties

TVC E, NEWS - The tranquil atmosphere of Afe Babalola University, ABUAD, Ado Ekiti was shattered Sunday night as students suspected to be cultists destroyed property worth millions of naira on the campus. No fewer than ten expensive cars and buses as well as the window panes of some buildings were smashed by the angry students. TVC News Correspondent, Akin Ogunmola reports that although there has been tales of individual delinquent acts by ABUAD students, this is the first reported mob action by a group suspected to be cultists in the institution that prides itself as Nigeria’s leading private university . Some of these vandalized vehicles belong to the founder and staff of the university while the internet centre of the institution was dealt a severe blow.
