Nigerian professional footballer, Asisat Oshoala was announced on the 4th of January, as the winner of Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Player of the Year for the third time beating Cameroon’s Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene and Chrestina Kgatlana of South Africa.
The Nigerian footballer who plays for Chinese side Dalian Quanjian F.C. in the Chinese Women’s Super League as a forward was filled with emotions and dropped tears of joy as she bagged her award at the 2017 African Footballer of the Year award ceremony held in Ghana.
While expressing her joy , she said,
Its really been an emotional journey through 2017, i must say this is one of the personal moment in my career because when i left Arsenal and moved to China a lot of people said that Asisat your career is going to be gone.
But i told myself that i can do this. And i think i have done it.

Nigerian striker, Asisat Oshoala has promised more goals after scoring on her debut for Arsenal Ladies as they beat Reading 3-1 in a league opening game on Wednesday.
Oshoala scored her team's second goal in the victory.
The 21-year-old forward moved from Women's Super League rivals Liverpool at the close of the season.

Nigeria’s talented female football star, Asisat Oshoala appears set to join Arsenal Ladies.
This was confirmed by her current club, Liverpool who revealed in a tweet that it has ‘reluctantly accepted’ accepted a bid from the fellow Women Super League side.
Oshoala who joined Liverpool in 2015 also emerged the first winner of the BBC Women Footballer of the Year in 2015.
The details of her deal with Arsenal are yet to be disclosed but the 21-year-old Lagosian is expected to join the club soon....
