As the race to the election continues on who becomes the next President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN). The major contestants have upped their game by soliciting for support from the industry players.
Presently the three Nollywood director aspirants who have shown interest in DGN’s presidency are Lancelot Imasuen, Fred Amata and Dickson Iroegbu.
Fred Amata however might be having an edge over them as a result of the open declaration of support from his Ex-Ibinabo Fiberesima who is the current President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and also mother to his child-Zino.

Nollywood actor and director, Fred Amata has joined the race for the seat of the President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria.
Amata joins popular producer and director Lancelot Imasuen as the candidates vying for the position currently occupied by Andy Amenechi.
"Dearest colleagues. film makers, film enthusiast and film stakeholders, my name is Fred Amata. permit me to formally inform you that I am running for president of the Director's Guild of Nigeria. the Directors Guild of Nigeria is by its nature the Apex guild in our phenomenal Nollywood," Amata said while unveiling his decision to run.
He noted that the guild currently needs a visionary leadership that can spearhead reforms and harness the collective power of the individual strengths in the guild.
