TVC E, POLITICS - President Muhammadu Buhari has warned that Nigeria will not tolerate the revived agitation for Biafra.
Buhari condemned the call for the secession of Biafra from Nigeria and described the agitators as jokers who are simply toying with the nation’s security.
The president in an interview with Al Jazeera television during his recent visit to Qatar said: “At least two million Nigerians were killed in the Biafra war. And for somebody to wake up, may be they weren’t born, looking for Biafra after two millions people were killed, they are joking with the security of the country. Nigeria won’t tolerate Biafra.”
He said although government could tolerate peaceful pro-Biafran protests, demand for the creation of Biafra is against the constitution.
Buhari also vowed that Nigeria will not be dictated to by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) or any external force in the way it runs its economy.

TVC E, NEWS -Ten persons were killed and another 20 injured during Tuesday's protest by the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) in Aba, Abia State, when the protesters clashed with security agencies.
Unconfirmed reports said over 30 members are receiving treatment in various hospitals in the city while another 20 are in detention.

TVC NEWS : Britain has said it does not support the agitation for the creation of a Biafran nation from Nigeria. The British High Commission yesterday at Abuja explained that the position of the UK government during the civil war was a matter of historical record.
In a statement by the Press and Public Affairs Officer, British High Commission, Abuja by Mr. Joe Abuku, it was announced that the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom will not recognize the passports being issued by the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra.

TVC NEWS : Ralph Uwazuruike founder of BIM Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) said on Wednesday that, its forthcoming election would be a learning curve for Nigeria.
Ralph Uwazuruike, who was represented by made the statement in Enugu during a sensitization programme ahead of the February 22 election into wards, provinces, districts, regions and zones in the south-east and south-south.
