The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA held its first quarterly stakeholders meeting in 2017 with the theme' A new dawn in Emergency and Disaster management in Lagos state.
The event brought together key players in the emergency management industry including officials of the Nigerian police,Nigerian army, Federal road safety corp, Christian association of Nigeria, the Muslim community among others.
Attendees commended the giant strides Lagos state has made in the training of LASEMA officials and in equipping the agency.

TVC E, NEWS - At least three persons were burnt yesterday when fire razed Niger Biscuits Company on Creek Road in Apapa, Lagos, destroying property worth millions of naira.
According to eyewitness account, two Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) within the premises were destroyed.
It was learnt that the fire was sparked by gas explosion in the factory few minutes after 2pm.
A factory worker, who gave his name as Chukwudi, said the injured were rushed to hospital by Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) officials.

TVCE (LAGOS) - Lagosians, particularly those living around the Oworonshoki area of the state on Thursday scamper for safety following the rumour of a plane crash in the area.Rumours of a plane crash spread around Lagos as panicky residents said they saw a plane going down around Oworonshoki area.
But Lagos State Government debunked the rumours, saying what people saw was merely a simulation exercise.
Commenting on the incident, General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Michael Akindele, said it was just simulation being carried out to ascertain preparedness of emergency agencies in case of a plane crash.
“As part of emergency preparedness of the National Emergency Management Agency in collaboration with Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other stakeholders in Lagos State, a simulation exercise was today conducted on plane crash in Oworoshoki area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria,” he said.
