Selfish leaders hinder Nigeria’s growth – Obasanjo

TVCE [ABEOKUTA] - Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has blamed selfish leaders for the slow pace of growth and progress in the country. Speaking at his Presidential Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta during a courtesy visit by the leadership and members of the Scout Association of Nigeria, the former president advised that every leader to make the interest of the governed paramount in his policies. He was decorated as Messenger of Peace Ambassador for Africa. Noting that the decoration had rekindled memories of when he became Queen’s Scout, Obasanjo said for a leader to succeed he must always be prepared at all time to face challenges, especially unexpected challenges. “We need a Scout spirit in our country not just for individual benefit alone but also for services to the nation.
