Garden City, Port Harcourt stands still for Joseph Yobo’s Testimonial

The Garden City of Port Harcourt is standing  still this evening, Friday May 27, 2016, as former Eagles Skipper, Joseph Yobo, is staging a testimonial match in celebration of his retirement and centenary appearance for the national team. The event is being organised by the Joseph Yobo Foundation in conjunction with the Rivers State Government to honour the player who had a record 101 caps for the Super Eagles. WATCH: Blood spill as Manchester United, Everton fans clash

There was blood spill on the road to Wembley Stadium yesterday as fans of Manchester United and Everton clashed at a motorway service station.       The brutal brawl erupted between Everton and Manchester United fans travelling to their FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley. Videos posted online show at least three young men throwing punches in front of shocked onlookers. It was reported that buses marked as travelling to London are in the background. The fight appeared to have been caused by a Manchester fan and an Everton fan who posted footage of the brawl captioned it “Manc b******s” The violence took place at Cannock services in Staffordshire at around (12noon) 11am UK time. A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police confirmed they were called to a disturbance at the services but when officers arrived the incident had ended. No arrests were made. They added that officers had been patrolling the services for “reassurance” during the arrival...

Sam Okpodu confirmed as new head coach for Ikorodu United

Former head coach of Warri Wolves, Sam Okpodu has been confirmed as the new Ikorodu coach for Ikorodu United while Benson Edema is his assistant. The new coach is expected to help the team make a turn around after a series of awful performances in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). Out of the six games already played, the Ikorodu boys have managed to win one, draw two and lost three. Although, the assistant coacn, Benson Edema will be in charge of their Week 7 home game against Giwa FC, Okpodu will officially assume the role, when Ikorodu United face Nasarawa United in Makurdi.
