Foundation provides succour to 600 physically challenged

No fewer than 600 physically challenged people from Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo and Kwara state have been given artificial limbs. This is courtesy of an Osun state-based foundation and its Indian partners in conjunction with the state government. The programme ran for three days  in Ilesha, Osun state to enable easy distribution of the items to the beneficiaries according to their needs. Most of the beneficiaries are those who have lost their legs and hands to accidents. More than 40million naira was said to have been expended on the purchase of crunches, artificial legs and arm for the beneficiary. Man arrested in Osun for killing a lady who rejected his love advances

Three weeks after the murder of a 30-year-old customer care executive with telecommunications company, MTN, Oluwatosin Ashinwo, in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, the man who allegedly stabbed her multiple times, causing her death, has been apprehended by the police.   It was reported that the 45-year-old David Ogundele, whose love advances were rejected by the deceased, was arrested in Osun on Saturday, May 14, after the police tracked him down with undercover agents. He was immediately brought back to Kwara State where he was transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Kwara State Police Command, Ilorin.   It was learnt that the police had also retrieved the murder weapon, a kitchen knife which Ogundele, an engineer, used during the attack. Also recovered were slippers, which he left at the scene. He reportedly stabbed the deceased and her mother multiple times, locking them in the apartment as he fled. Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry has debunked reports that she was arrested by police officers in Osogbo. Mercy, however corroborated that she actually had an altercation with policemen after leaving a movie set in the city. Arms scandal: Aregbesola seeks heavy punishment for looters

TVC NEWS :Rauf Aregbesola the Osun State Governor, said on Friday at the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in honour of fallen heroes in Osogbo, that those involved in sharing the $2.1bn meant for arms procurement should be made to face the consequences of their offense without exception. . Aregbesola commended President Muhammdu Buhari for unraveling the looting, but lamented the situation where some of the soldiers caught and indicted have been pardoned and some losing their commission while others face uncertain future.
